About the Approach

The Reggio Emilia approach is a project based, play-based child-centered philosophy that views children as capable and curious learners who construct knowledge through exploration, collaboration, and interaction with their environment. Key aspects include long-term, interest-based projects, a strong emphasis on the environment as a "third teacher," and a collaborative relationship between teachers, children, and families.
The curriculum is flexible, not predetermined, and learning is documented through methods like observation and storytelling to make the children's thinking visible.
